Job Title: Academic Support Specialist - Trojan Tutor

Join Our Team of Innovative Educators! We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Support Specialist to work as a Trojan Tutor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. As a key member of our Trojan Tutoring team, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to students, helping them to achieve academic success and reach their full potential.

As a Trojan Tutor, you will have the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds, providing guidance and support in a variety of subjects, including General Education/Core Curriculum courses.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver individualized tutorial sessions to support student learning and academic success
• Facilitate student insight into underlying thought processes, promoting independent learning and confidence
• Develop and implement effective learning and study strategies, including note-taking, time management, and test-taking skills
• Collaborate with students to identify areas of need and develop personalized plans to address these needs
• Provide constructive feedback and support to students, helping them to achieve their academic goals

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock
• Received an "A" or "B" in one of the specified courses (e.g. Introduction to Visual Arts, World Literature, Psychology, etc.)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively with limited supervision and adapt to changing situations
• Strong knowledge of course materials and ability to demonstrate academic best practices
