Education Unlimited is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Writing Instructor to join our online summer camp team for 2023! As a Writing Instructor, you will have the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds, guiding them through our engaging writing curriculum and helping them develop their writing skills in a supportive and interactive environment.

About Our Program

• Our summer programs include public speaking camps, college admissions prep programs, science camps, summer acting camp, writing camps, computer camp, leadership camp, video production camp, and college tours.
• We offer four writing courses: A+ Summer High School, A+ Summer Middle School, Emerging Writers 7-9 Grade, and Emerging Writers 10-12.
• Class sizes are small, with an average of 6-10 students, to ensure personalized attention and feedback.

Responsibilities

• Guide students through the Education Unlimited writing curriculum.
• Provide one-on-one feedback sessions and lead students in a showcase at the end of camp.
• Track student work and deliverables to the camp director and EU home office.
• Assist with active supervision, recreational activities, and administrative tasks (on-campus instructors).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience teaching writing at the high school or college level (for high school programs).
• 3+ years of experience teaching writing at the elementary, middle school, or high school level (for middle school programs).
• Bachelor's degree required; MFA preferred.
• Ability to teach various genres preferred.
• Publications and knowledge about the publication process are preferred.
• Calm and professional demeanor.
• Willingness and ability to work long hours.
• Self-motivation and follow-through.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong people skills.
• Passion for education and writing.
