Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and skilled ELA Teacher to plan, organize, and present instruction to students in a dynamic and supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ELA curriculum and instructional best practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As an ELA Teacher at Asheville City Schools, you will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and fostering a love of learning in your students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and present instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills that contribute to their educational and social development.
  • Manage instructional time effectively, ensuring that materials, supplies, and equipment are ready for each lesson.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
  • Monitor student performance, provide feedback, and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Interact effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and the community to promote student success.

Requirements:

  • Valid North Carolina teaching license in English Language Arts.
  • Graduate degree from a four-year accredited college or university.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
