Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Teaching Instructor/Teaching Assistant Professor to join our faculty team in the Department of Engineering. This is a full-time, 9-month fixed-term position that will focus on teaching and service. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching four courses (or equivalent) per semester, contributing to the development of our undergraduate and graduate programs, and engaging in service activities that support the growth and reputation of our department.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach four courses (or equivalent) per semester, including core engineering courses and concentration courses in specialized areas
• Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the department's and university's goals and objectives
• Contribute to the development of our undergraduate and graduate programs, including advising students and mentoring student research projects
• Engage in service activities that support the growth and reputation of our department, including committee work, outreach, and community engagement
• Participate in departmental and university-wide initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Stay current with developments in their field and apply this knowledge to teaching, research, and service

Essential Qualifications

• Master's degree in an engineering field from a regionally accredited institution
• Demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and service
• Areas of teaching interest include freshman and sophomore engineering classes

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering field, biomedical, electrical, environmental, industrial/systems, manufacturing, mechanical, or closely related backgrounds
• Professional experience and teaching experience
• Demonstrate commitment to equity and diversity through teaching and/or public engagement
