Position Summary

We invite applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with expertise in the area of animal physiology to start in August 2024. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Hold a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field by August 2024
  • Have post-doctoral research experience (preferred)
  • Demonstrate success or potential to excel in teaching and advising undergraduates
  • Show evidence of ongoing scholarly productivity
  • Teach organismal biology and upper-level courses in animal physiology and cell and molecular biology
  • Develop a compelling research program accessible to undergraduate student participation and collaboration

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Professor of Biology at Susquehanna University, you will be expected to:

  • Teach a range of biology courses, including organismal biology, animal physiology, and cell and molecular biology
  • Develop and maintain a research program that involves undergraduate students and aligns with the university's research priorities
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to undergraduate students
  • Participate in departmental and university-wide service, including committee work and outreach activities

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you should:

  • Have a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field by August 2024
