Key Responsibilities

As an Experienced Pharmacy Customer Service Associate, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering Exceptional Customer Service: Engage with customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Registering Sales and Processing Transactions: Register customer purchases on assigned cash register, collect cash and distribute change as requested; process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed.
  • Assisting Pharmacists: Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Maintaining a Clean and Organized Store: Keep counters and shelves clean and well-merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records. Check in and price merchandise as required or as directed by store manager or communicated by the shift leader.
  • Performing Duties as Assigned: Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
  • Reporting Prescription Errors: Report, immediately, prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Handling Telephone Calls: Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
  • Processing Manual Claims: Process (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assisting with Inventory Management: Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
  • Ensuring Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
  • Constructing and Maintaining Displays: Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise.
  • Providing Customer Service in the Photo Area: Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print, and creative machine, suggestive sell of promotional photo products.
  • Assuming Web Pick-up Responsibilities: Assume web pick-up responsibilities (monitors orders in Picture Care Plus, fills orders, delivers orders to customers as they arrive at store).
  • Assisting with Exterior and Interior Maintenance: Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.

Essential Qualifications

* High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.

  • PTCB Certification: Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, patients, and colleagues.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately process transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, with the ability to learn and use pharmacy systems and other software applications.

Preferred Qualifications

* Pharmacy Technician Certification: Pharmacy technician certification, such as CPhT or RPh.

  • Experience in a Pharmacy Setting: Experience in a pharmacy setting, with a strong understanding of pharmacy operations and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Pharmacy Systems: Knowledge of pharmacy systems, including pharmacy software and hardware.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and resolve complex issues.
