Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Para Educator to join our team at Penns Valley Area School District in Pennsylvania. As a Para Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting students with disabilities or other eligible needs, working closely with our certificated staff to provide instructional programs and services. Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students, assisting with instructional activities and classroom management
- Escort students to and from classes, restrooms, cafeteria, and other areas as needed
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation, presentation of learning materials, and student supervision
- Help students with personal needs, including hygiene, physical restraint, and IEP goal implementation
- Operate and care for classroom equipment used for instructional purposes
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate ethical behavior
Requirements:
- Completed at least two years of postsecondary study, associate degree or higher, or meet rigorous quality standards
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
- Clearances from PA State Police, federal criminal history record, and PA Child Abuse History
- Ability to work up to 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility for overtime with prior approval
