Job Summary
As a Lead Data Engineer at blithequark, you will be responsible for designing and developing data solutions that meet the evolving needs of our business. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements, design and implement data architectures, and develop scalable and efficient data pipelines. Your expertise in cloud-based technologies, data warehousing, and data science will enable you to drive business growth and improve customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop data solutions that meet the evolving needs of our business, including data warehousing, data pipelines, and data science applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements, design and implement data architectures, and develop scalable and efficient data pipelines
- Develop and maintain high-quality documentation of data solutions and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
- Ensure high functional productivity and quality of solutions to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and support obligations to our clients (Information Science, Information Examination groups)
- Participate in Agile/Scrum practices to ensure team well-being and cycle enhancements
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improvement in data solutions
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or related field
- Strong SQL skills and ability to write complex queries to extract insights from large datasets
- Experience with distributed systems like Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala
- Experience with at least one major Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query)
- Strong involvement in data integration toolsets (i.e. Wind current) and writing and maintaining data pipelines
- Strong understanding of data modeling strategies and data warehousing standard practices and procedures
- Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches

* Experience with cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
- Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
- Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts and applications
