Experienced Bilingual Machine Learning Data Associate - Portuguese Remote Customer Engagement Technology Specialist

Our Customer Engagement Technologies (CET) organization is at the forefront of this innovation, developing elegant customer-facing products that offer effortless self-service and automated solutions to our customers. If customers prefer to interact with a human, we enable our Customer Service Associates (CSAs) to effectively and elegantly solve customer issues using our associate-facing products powered through human-centered design. One of these solutions is a new translation system deploying neural machine translation technology (through arenaflex Translate models) that aims to support high-quality, real-time translations for up to 39 languages. By applying automated translations to text-based customer service channels (email, chat, Message Us, and CS Chatbot), our products' vision is to remove language as a barrier and enable flexibility in the CS labor force. Ultimately, arenaflex will be capable of supporting customers anywhere around the world, irrespective of the language the CSA is speaking.

Join Our Team

We're looking for a talented Machine Learning Data Associate (MLDA) Specialist, Portuguese to drive Portuguese-to-English and English-to-Portuguese machine translation improvements in partnership with the Machine Learning team. As a key member of our Global Product Management team, you'll be responsible for auditing cross-language interactions on text-based channels, reviewing and assessing the quality of machine translations in each direction, and informing on the highest priority machine translation improvement opportunities that will enhance the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

* Native-level translation and localization skills in Portuguese

• Proficiency in testing and content reading in Portuguese with the ability to document outcomes in English for stakeholders
• Utilization of Portuguese skills to support internal and external customers and related products
• Competence in navigating various internal tools to understand the customer journey
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Adaptability to work in a dynamic environment and willingness to change priorities on short notice
• Must be fluent in Portuguese and English

A Day in the Life

As a Machine Learning Data Associate Specialist, Portuguese, your key daily activities will include:

• Localization/Translation: Utilizing your native-level translation and localization skills in Portuguese to support internal and external customers and related products.
• Testing various workstreams: Conducting thorough testing and content reading in Portuguese to ensure the quality of machine translations.
• Contact Reading in native language while documenting findings in English: Reviewing and assessing the quality of machine translations in each direction and documenting outcomes in English for stakeholders.
• Stakeholder management: Collaborating with Program and Product Managers to determine opportunities for optimizing the quality auditing and machine translations improvement processes.
• Project planning experience: Contributing to project scoping, deadlines, backlog maintenance, and reporting to ensure the successful execution of machine learning roadmap for the product.

Requirements

* Fluency in Portuguese and English (verbal and written communication)

• 1 year's business experience in localization and translation
• Strong attention to details
• Exceptional communicational skills
• Customer service experience
• Experience working in complex and frequently changing environments
• Ability to interpret customer need and frame that as clear requirements
• Project planning experience, including project scoping, deadlines, backlog maintenance, and reporting
• Bachelor's Degree
• Practical knowledge of data processing needs and tradeoffs
• Experience working with machine learning, Artificial intelligence, natural language understanding, and data

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $32,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $70,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. arenaflex is a total compensation company, and dependent on the position offered, equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
